Hueyear
A live wallpaper that turns your year into 365 dots. Log your mood, water and habits in one tap, right from your home screen.
Role: Product design, Flutter & Kotlin development, marketing website. Stack: Flutter, Dart, Kotlin, Android Live Wallpaper, Next.js.
The challenge
Mood and habit trackers get abandoned because opening an app every day is friction. The goal was a tracker you never have to open — one that lives where you already look a hundred times a day: your phone’s wallpaper.
The solution
A real Android live wallpaper that redraws itself at midnight and ripples in on every unlock, then rests at zero battery. Logging happens wherever is fastest — the wallpaper, a free home-screen widget, a Quick Settings tile or an evening notification — with animated 3D mood faces. Everything stays on the device: no account, no ads, no tracking.

- Making Hueyear — a live wallpaper that tracks your year without draining your battery — Building a mood and habit tracker you never have to open meant putting it on the wallpaper. Here's what that taught me about Android, Flutter and battery life.
- Micro-interactions — the 1% details that make products feel alive — The difference between a good interface and a delightful one is often a 200-millisecond animation nobody consciously notices.
