How I work with teams in India, Dubai and the UK
· Freelance, India
I am based in India, and almost every project I take is remote. The city on your side of the call changes the timezone math a little. It does not change the work.
Teams hire me from five Indian tech hubs, and from Dubai and the UK. This is the kind of work that usually starts in each place.
Where the projects come from
Bengaluru (Bangalore) is mostly product startups and SaaS teams: web apps, mobile apps and design systems.
Hyderabad is software companies and in-house product groups who need dashboards, APIs and tools their own staff will use every day.
Pune is product engineering teams, often a React app or a React Native build on something that is already live.
Mumbai is agencies, consumer brands and founders. The brief is usually a marketing site, an identity, or a campaign page that has to lead somewhere.
Delhi NCR — Delhi, Gurugram (Gurgaon) and Noida — is startups who want a first version, a redesign, or someone to get them through launch.
Dubai is founders and companies in the UAE. The work is usually a website, a product build or a brand, delivered remotely from India.
The UK is teams who want calls that overlap UK hours, with the same weekly preview and written update as everyone else.
If your city is not on that list, the process is still the one on the services page.
What a week actually looks like
Calls are on India Standard Time. I overlap with other time zones when a client needs it, and I say so in the proposal if the hours are awkward.
You get three things every week, wherever you are:
- a call, short and on the calendar
- a live preview link, so you click the product instead of reading a status report
- a written update: what moved, what I need from you, what is next
The longer version of that process is in how I run a freelance project.
What stays the same
Everything runs from one studio, remotely. If a project needs someone in the room for a workshop, say that on the first call. Web apps, mobile apps, custom software, UI/UX, 3D and branding all go through the preview link.
If the project fits, send the idea. I reply within 24 hours.
